Hi,

I am a foreigner (Danish) in need of some guidance, as I am extremely focused in my search for an internship/trainee position in human resources in the US, but I am constantly running against walls! I am just about to finish my Masters in Organizational Psychology in Denmark after living in New Zealand for a year, where I interned with an organizational psychologist in Auckland and I am eager to be off again. However, despite multiple creative initiatives, in addition to all the common ones, I have not succeeded yet in knocking the right door!

Would any of you be able to help me somehow, as network seems to be everything?

The Denmark-America Foundation & Fulbright Commission has offered to sponsor my visa and hence, it is not even an issue, which makes it even more frustrating!

I really hope some of you might be able to help me somehow.

Cheers,

Cathrine

Catherine,

Wow, unbelievable you haven't landed something yet!    I'm sure networking will get you where you need to be.

I suggest a couple of things:  Look at SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) and see if they have some internships available.  Also consider posting you needs with them.

In Los Angeles, you can do the same with PIHRA (Professionals in Human Resources) www.pihra.org and you can post your resume there.

I sent you an invite for a friend.  Check my emails for some other advice.
