I am a mother of two young children and I was employeed with a company where I worked part-time at home.  Due to the poor economy I was laid off at the end of last year and am searching for part-time at home work.   My title was HR Generalist and I did various recruiting, college recruiting, exit interviews, speical projects, etc.

I would like to hear some thoughts on other HR jobs that people think could be done from home on a part-time basis.  Are there many companies out there that have work-at-home employees???

I used to work for a company that had employees who worked from home in the recruiting aspect but due to lack of performance have in housed this function.  I too am a young mom who would love to work from home if an option is available. :)

I wonder if you have gotten business cards made up and have tried going to different companies offering your outsourced services?  With companies trying to cut their overhead, you have a strong position.  When hiring the work out, the company doesn't have to pay for office space, benefits, insurance or any of the other mandatory expenses involved in having an in-house person doing the work.  Your rates can be reasonable due to the fact that you work out of your home rather than in an expensive office, another selling point.  Do you have a local networking group for women?  They usually meet once a month, and are solely for the purpose of getting your card and your name out there.  I hope this helps.
