What music do you listen to when you want to switch off the brain and chill out after a hard day at work? One of my favourites is the group Zero 7. All their music really helps me unwind.

i love to listen long instrumental music ,It could be Kenny G or from eastern music I love Sitar of ravi Shankar ,Anand Shankar ,Shehnai by Bismillah Khan . Now a days there are some fusion those are excellent to cool you down.

Enya is really great, and James Taylor.  Anything that slows me down.

Ha, I have you beat on this one!  I live at the beach!  It is really relaxing, and sometimes when the sun is shining and I really just want to unwind, I go down to the beach and walk along letting the waves do their thing.  It's great!

Well - i go with Mark Knopfler and lots of country music most of the time !!!

I dont have any idea about western relaxation music .I feel pretty relaxed with the instruments like SAROD ,Santoor ,Sitar  and Shenai by artists like Bismillah Khan ,Amzad Ali Khan ,Shiva kumar ,RaviShankar ,Ananda Shankar ,Belayet Ali Khan . Also there are some good mix composition . Truely relaxation music slows down your pulse and heart rates ,decrease blood pressure  and decrease level of stress hormone .  It helps you to look at your innerself and ultimately guide you to inward journey.

brothr, thanks a lot for the information . I have checked the site  and found good .  I have little different view than that of your`s. I prefer long uninterupted  music . If you  want to enjoy this site one needs to work to select the music .  My  system is to listen through heart and  visualize the image through third eye .

Off course I have listened to the Flute of Harprasad Chaurasia . There are some fusion music that works quite ok to relax .

Have any of you ever heard of Michael Franks?  The only concert that I ever went to in my life was a Michael Franks concert in Cali.  Natalie Cole opened.  It was fantastic!  I used to have several of his albums, and my favourite was "The Art of Tea".  Look him up on the internet if you haven't seen him in the shops.  I'm telling you, you will love it!   If you want to sample him first, you can go to projectplaylist.com and do a music search for Michael Franks.  He's on there.

Tiger in the Rain is on projectplaylist, and I think that Popsicle Toes is, as well.  Eggplant with Mayonnaise and the one about the camera, what was the name of that one again??  Oh, his music and his voice are so very soft and mellow, it really takes me down every time!

The one where he says that she always gets the Pentax when he's in the nude.  Wow, I can't believe that I've found a fellow fan!  So few people seem to know of him!

Sounds fab!  I don't really have the time to do that, though.  I usually am doing two or three things at once, even when I decide to relax and enjoy a film, which isn't often.  You are the master at relaxing!
